IMMIGRANT INVESTOR VENTURE CAPITAL (IIVC)

To apply for permanent residence in this category it is necessary to have personal assets of CDN $ 10 million or more acquired by business activities or private legal investments. Equity acquired by inheritance or principal residence value do not qualify.

The Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will require applicants considered for this program to obtain a report from one of the following accounting firms:

  • BDO USA, LLP
  • Deloitte Forense Inc.
  • EY
  • KPMG LLP
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) LLP
  • Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Consulting Inc.

This report is an independent examination and validation of your past business or investment experience, source of funds and personal equity.

In addition, the applicant must be willing and able to make a risk investment (not guaranteed) of CDN $ 2 million in the Investor Venture Capital (IIVC), Immigrant Fund, for approximately 15 years.

Like any other venture capital investment, it will be possible to receive income over time or at the end of the investment term. Yields will depend on the performance of the fund and will be based on gains or losses, including expenses and fees incurred to manage them. However, this would be a risky investment.
