It is possible to bring parents, grandparents, spouses, partners and children as permanent residents to Canada if you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you are over 18 years of age and if you live in Quebec meet the requirements of the province.
People to be sponsored may already be living in Canada or not. However, depending on the current residence will be defined the type of application to be used.
Individuals who will be sponsored must meet eligibility requirements: take doctors and provide criminal history records.
The sponsor will not be considered eligible if:
- Failing to comply with the sponsorship terms of the past,
- Do not pay child support ordered by a court
- Receive social assistance for any reason other than
- Have been convicted of crimes of a sexual, violent, or personal nature
- Was sponsored as a spouse less than five years ago after March 2012
- Did not pay immigration loan
- Is arrested
- Declared bankruptcy and has not yet cleared the name
Other things not listed above may also prevent sponsorship from relatives.
