There are cases where you do not need to apply for a student visa. If the chosen program is short-term, six months or less, study permit is unnecessary.
Foreign representatives, family members, or foreign representation teams accredited by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) also do not need a student visa. Just contact your embassy in Canada, who can contact GAC to clarify visa requirements or not.
Members of the foreign military are covered by the Visiting Forces Act and do not need a student visa. However, family members, including minor children, will have to meet the basic requirements for studying in Canada.
Foreigners who are registered as Indians in Canada or are natives of other countries who are registered as Indians in Canada do not also need a student visa to study in Canada.
